Where is Biltmore Estate?

Biltmore Estate is located about 15 minutes south of downtown Asheville, just off I-40 at Exit 50 (US Highway 25). For GPS directions, use 1 Lodge St, Asheville, NC 28803.

When should I arrive?

Your reservation time is your Biltmore House entry time. Please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to your house entry time to park and catch the shuttle to Biltmore House. If you arrive late, the Biltmore staff will do their best to accommodate you, but may be unable to do so. Guests are also encouraged to arrive on the estate early to explore the gardens, grounds, shops, restaurants, and more.

Do I need to pay for parking?

No, parking is included with estate admission.

Is there parking near Biltmore House?

Yes, lots A and B are closest to the house and gardens, about an 8- to 10-minute walk. There's also a shuttle available for those who park in the satellite parking area. Round-trip ADA shuttle service is provided to Biltmore House from the Park & Ride Building (with accessible parking in Lot E).

What if I arrive by taxi, Uber, or Lyft?

Rideshare services drop off at the designated lane near the Park & Ride Building by Lot C. Biltmore offers limited complimentary shuttles between select areas, but not estate-wide. For broader access, the Biltmore Connect shuttle is available for $15 per person (free for kids 9 and under) and runs between key estate locations. Shuttle tickets can be purchased on-site or by calling the number on your e-ticket.

How much time should I allow for my self-guided tour of Biltmore House?

The tour is self-guided and you will go at your own pace. The audio guide has an approximate run time of one hour, but plan to spend about 1.5 to 2 hours to fully experience the beauty and grandeur of the home.

Is Biltmore Estate wheelchair accessible?

Most of the estate is accessible, including the first and second floors of Biltmore House (connected by an elevator), Antler Hill Village, the Walled Garden, and Conservatory. Guests unable to access the third Floor and basement can watch a video of those areas from a designated rest area. Some garden areas have terrain that may be difficult for wheelchair users. All estate shuttles are wheelchair accessible.

Is the estate accessible for guests with strollers?

Strollers are welcome in most areas, but Biltmore House includes stairs and narrow passages that can be challenging. The Walled Garden and Conservatory are stroller accessible, though other garden paths may be difficult to navigate with strollers.

Are pets allowed?

Pets (except for service animals) are not allowed in any building, including Biltmore House. However, pets are allowed on the grounds and outdoor patios of Bistro and Cedric's Tavern, but patio seating should be requested from the host or hostess inside first. Pets must be leashed at all times.

Can I take photos inside Biltmore House?

Non-flash photography and videos by cell phone or small cameras on the self-guided tour are permitted for personal use only. Commercial photography is not permitted. Large cameras, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, gimbals, Steadicams, GoPro cameras, or any other photography equipment are not allowed inside Biltmore House.

Can I bring a bag/backpack?

Guests may carry small personal bags no larger than 19" x 14" x 9" inside Biltmore House. If your bag does not meet these requirements, please leave it in your vehicle or ask about storage options. Exceptions will be made for medical items after inspection. All bags will be inspected by security personnel before entry into Biltmore House. Backpacks and wheeled bags are not permitted.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably. Wear walking shoes and layers for the changing mountain weather.

Can I bring food or drinks with me?

No outside food and beverage is permitted on estate grounds except for personal water bottles and while picnicking in certain estate locations; please visit Guest Services for recommended picnic spots. Only clear, plastic water bottles are permitted inside Biltmore House. Outside alcohol and tailgating—including the use of tents, grills, multiple camping chairs/tables, and large coolers—are not permitted on estate grounds.

What method(s) of payment does the estate accept?

Credit/debit cards are accepted for all estate purchases, including dining, outdoor activity, tour, exhibition, and gift shop purchases. Cash is only accepted for dining and overnight stay purchases.

What time does Biltmore open?
